Hiring Challenge: My resume was not streamlined enough. I was not getting interviews for the jobs I wanted. At the same time, the interviews I got were for jobs I wasn’t very interested in.

Assistance Received: The training about how to target a resume was amazing. It was a really good feeling to finally be told that I had all of the experience I needed, I just needed to do a better job pulling it out of my job history.

Result of Assistance: I had three phone screens, an interview, and a recruiter contacted me through LinkedIn during the same week I began using my updated resume. I began to see that I had choices between the companies I wanted to work for.

Value of Experience: I couldn’t believe the difference in job search results after implementing the techniques I gained from the trainings. Up until that point, any feedback I received seemed more focused on what was wrong with my resume and it was often coming from people with no military background so it tended to come off like they didn’t understand what I had to offer. The trainings focused on proactive steps I could take in better representing myself. It was a much more positive and productive experience.
