Horicon Marsh Trip

Travel with a Heller naturalist to Horicon Marsh, a 33,000 acre
Wisconsin wetland, to view the spring migration. Thousands
of birds come through the protected wetland each spring, and
you can see up to 100 species in one day! We’ll take a guided
boat tour on the wetland, followed by a visit to the Visitor
Center and a 1 to 2 mile hike to get another view of the Marsh
and its inhabitants.
Bring a sack lunch and binoculars and dress for the weather.

informative hands-on workshop, discussion or walk!
Presented in cooperation with the Highland Park and Lake Forest/
Lake Bluff Senior Centers.

Spring Bird Count
[Adults]
Help staff and volunteers conduct the annual lakefront bird
census, then recap the fun over breakfast at Heller Nature
Center. Results are added to a national database to aid in
research regarding shoreline habitat protection.
