August 2015 Dear Friend, Every 7 minutes in Canada, someone dies from heart disease or stroke. But, I’m here to tell you there’s good news. People are winning the battle against heart disease every day, right here at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute. And that’s thanks in part to generous gifts from people who care about helping others. I’m hoping, as one of those people, that you’ll consider becoming a supporter today. Let me introduce myself. My name is Dr. Dylan Taylor and I’m the Medical Director here at the University of Alberta Hospital, the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute and the Kaye Edmonton Clinic. I’ve worked at the University of Alberta Hospital and Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute for over 25 years. Every day, I walk the halls of this world-class facility. I’m continually inspired by the dedication and commitment of our doctors, nurses and other medical staff. And the hope that gives patients and their loved ones. And I’m continually inspired by what we can accomplish with the generous support of caring people who live right here in Edmonton, across northern Alberta, and beyond. You’re receiving this letter today because I believe you care about helping people. That’s why I urge you to make a generous gift today. Your gift will help more people win the battle against heart disease. Let me explain… To start with, gifts from people in your community helped to get the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute up and running in the first place. Our vision was to create a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to cardiovascular health. Together, we made this happen. Generous donors provided 1 in 4 dollars to help build and equip the Maz. 1H1.91 WMC, 8440 – 112 Street NW Edmonton, Alberta T6G 2B7 Telephone: (780) 407-7007 Fax: (780) 407-6603 www.GiveToMaz.ca
