Summer
is here and with so many
great places to visit, if you haven’t already, then it’s time you discovered the
many great things going on in and around
Port Lavaca.
With all the water, coastal prairies, and marshes, Port
Lavaca the county seat of Calhoun County, is a favorite
place for birders and photography, with more than 400 different species of birds and eight birding sites on the Texas
Birding Trail. Located 150 miles from the farthest large
metropolis, Austin, it’s a short easy drive to spend one
great weekend or a lifetime!
WHAT: Canoe Race
WHEN: Race Starts Sat. June 13, 2015 at 9am
WHERE: San Marcos, Aquarena Center
Great fishing, kayaking, canoeing, birding, along with the
freshest seafood, plenty of wonderful restaurants and plenty of modern and comfortable hotels, the city is highly anticipating the arrival of those amazing competitors of the
Texas Water Safari when they cross the finish line in the
town of Seadrift, only a 15 minute drive away!
FINISH LINE: Weds. June 17 at 1pm

the race will start at 9am Sat. June 27th
