Congratulations, Annagrace!

Congratulations to Annagrace! After working with MSCCN for three weeks, Annagrace accepted a position with Putnam General Hospital.

Hiring Challenge: My hiring challenge consisted of lack of experience in my field. I wanted to find a job that would use my degree, but it was hard due to the lengthy experience requirement that the jobs I was applying for required. I also had trouble creating a good resume to target the types of jobs I was looking for.

Assistance Received: While working with MSCCN, I received all kinds of help. My employment specialist monitored job boards for me, and I received help applying for a position in my area of study. MSCCN also helped me to restructure my resume, and I learned about the different ways I could change my resume to target each job I was applying for. I also received advice on numerous occasions regarding the job search and building my resume.

Results: As a result of working with MSCCN, I was able to create a better resume. My resume now has the proper wording, and I have a better understanding of how to change my resume when applying to different jobs in the future (if needed). After changing my resume, I was asked for an interview that eventually led to a job.

Value of Experience:  My employment specialist was very helpful whenever I needed it. She really opened my eyes to things I would have otherwise never noticed or thought of. For example, the wording on my resume wasn’t geared towards any of the jobs I was searching for. After explaining to me which words targeted specific jobs, I was able to change my resume to help me get a call for an interview. Whenever I needed help, my employment specialist was always there and answered my emails/phone calls very quickly. I would recommend MSCCN to anyone in need of employment services.
