PCT : How did you get into your occupation ? SL : I was working for the Corp of Engineering in Oregon on a UN project when my mother back in Weatherford was having power outages and having to replace several electrical appliances ; I needed to do something . So , on one of my visits home I installed a solar backup system to protect her house and keep her lights on . After that job in Oregon was complete , I came back to Weatherford and started EcoVantage Energy Inc ., because I saw how well the system I had gotten for my mother worked .
PCT : What is your favorite novel ? SL : “ The Bourne Identity ,” by Robert Ludlum .
PCT : What do you do to decompress ? SL : I take my dog on long walks .
PCT : What is something people don ’ t know about you ? SL : I was a US Air Force Survival Instructor before I was a civil engineer .
PCT : What would you most like to be remembered for ? SL : That I helped my customers save on their electric bill .
PCT : If you could have lunch with anyone , either living or dead from history , who would it be ? SL : Albert Einstein .
PCT : If you had to do another job other than what you ’ re doing , what would you do ? SL : Treasure hunter .
PCT : What is your impact to Parker County ? SL : I have brought solar power to Parker County .
PCT : What is your definition of the best day ever ? SL : A day when I am able to help a customer solve a problem they have .
PCT : What ’ s the best piece of advice you would give ? SL : Install solar for peace of mind .
PCT : What is the most interesting thing you have ever done in your life ? SL : I was part of an expedition to explore the Grand Canyon and try and prove the existence of a cave that had Egyptian artifacts in it .

PCT : How did you get into your occupation ? DM : I was appointed by a fivemember Election Commission : County Judge , Democratic Party Chair , Republican Party Chair , County Clerk and County Tax Assessor-Collector .
PCT : What is your favorite novel ? DM : I love to read , so this was a hard one . One of my favorites is Tale of Two Cities .
PCT : What do you do to decompress ? DM : To decompress I like to travel with Evon , my wife .
PCT : What is something people don ’ t know about you ? DM : Most people don ’ t know that I spent almost a year working in 1991 in Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War .
PCT : What would you most like to be remembered for ? DM : I would like to be remembered as a good husband , father , grandfather and friend .
PCT : If you could have lunch with any one , either living or dead from history , who would it be ? DM : I would like to have lunch with both my grandfathers and father to tell them how much they shaped my life .
PCT : If you had to do another job other than what you ’ re doing , what would you do ? DM : I love my job very much , but if I could not do it any longer , I would go back to coaching .
PCT : What is your impact to Parker County ? DM : The biggest impact I have on Parker County is to make sure all elections are run in a fair and honest way , by the law .
PCT : What is your definition of the best day ever ? DM : My best day ever is any day I can spend with my grandsons : Tristan , 6 and Chase , 4 .
PCT : What ’ s the best piece of advice you would give ? DM : Enjoy the life God has given you . It ’ s way too short not to .
PCT : What is the most interesting thing you have ever done in your life ? DM : It might not seem that cool to anybody else . Coaching my daughter Stephanie in volleyball and winning the TCAL State Championship . She was voted MVP of the tournament . Now that was cool .
