TAHLEQUAH , Okla . - Musicians DocFell & Co . are an outfit of countryfied rockers coming from Northeast Oklahoma . The band ’ s new album Dust Bowl Heart has an apropos Valentine ’ s Day release date . The new effort is filled with solid music the local fans of the red genre will very much enjoy .

Fell tries to stay active , even to be prolific in his writing . So , besides his album efforts he ’ s kept busy releasing singles between the larger projects . DocFell & Co . also keep quite busy playing live frequently around the region ; typically Fell is accompanied by Kyle Brown , his experienced

and capable lead guitarist , but with the new album out , many of these events are also official CD release parties with the full band show .

DocFell , a . k . a . John Fell , formed his band over five years ago and he has always been associated with the private , Monotone Studio in Tahlequah . But for his new project he ’ s also honed his work with mastering by Adam Odor at Yellow Dog Studios in Wimberley , Texas . The new album takes up where its predecessor leaves off and continues Fell ’ s tradition of using only the most talented performers to accompany him . Along with locally renowned guitarist Brown many other regional and national talents are featured on the new disc . The additional player include drummer Joe Sloan , bassists John Barker and Bernice Hembree , steel / dobro player Terry Day , fiddlers Kelli Doolin and Shelby Eicher , and guitarists Thomas Trapp and Joe

Mack are just some of the players featured on the album . Additional vocal contributors include Caitlin Cary , Angela Huckeby and Chris Masterson .

You can start off the month correctly by seeing DocFell on Wednesday , Feb . 1 at the Westbound Club at 61st & 33rd West Avenue in Tulsa . Then on Friday , Feb . 17 , you can again catch DocFell & Co . in Tulsa at The Beehive Lounge , a hot new music venue in the historic Kendall Whittier neighborhood . The next night , Saturday , Feb . 18 , the band holds a consecutive Tulsa CD release show at Soul City .

If February somehow doesn ’ t work for you , look for DocFell at the Blackbird on Pearl coming March 3 , or the Tulsa Osage Casino on March 31 .
