CHI St. Luke’s Health has purchased
23 acres of land at the corner of the new
Grand Parkway and Holzworth Road in
Springwoods Village.
The medical campus will include an
ambulatory medical center and medical
office building which is expected to be
complete in the late 2015. The facility will
provide emergency services, diagnostic
imaging and outpatient surgery to the
residents and employee population in
Springwoods Village and surrounding areas.
“Springwoods
Village
exemplifies
sustainable, healthy living – a goal we share
– promoting work-life balance, prevention
and community health,” said Debra Sukin,
President, CHI St. Luke’s The Woodlands
Hospital and Lakeside Hospital. “St.
Luke’s has been providing compassionate
healthcare to Southwest Texas for nearly 60
years, and we have been honored to serve
North Houston for more than a decade. We
are excited to continue our strong legacy
within the region by expanding our clinical
programs, new models of care and costeffective treatment options.”
With an initial investment of $110
million, the new campus will include a
55,000-square-foot ambulatory medical
center and a 100,000-square-foot medical
office building with space for more than
30 physicians. Additionally, CHI St. Luke’s
is committed to investing as much as $70
million over the next five years for future
developments, including a master plan
for future hospital and campus expansion
that will enable the organization to
continue to provide high-quality care with
the continued growth of Springwoods
Village. CHI St. Luke’s has hospitals in
The Woodlands and in The Vintage, a
development east of Springwoods Village.
The new facility will be more convenient to
an estimated 300,000 individuals living and
moving to the area.

President, Chief
Financial Officer,
Westside Surgical
Hospital
As medical technology continues to
make advances, robotic surgery may soon
become the preferred method for many
spinal procedures. Robotic surgery allows
physicians to use innovative technology to
perform minimally invasive procedures that
reduce pain and recovery times for patients
and increases the accuracy in spinal surgery.
Westside will have two of the eight
Renaissance systems currently in use
throughout the State of Texas. There are a
total of 36 units in use across the nation.
Westside was chosen in large part due to
the work of renowned spinal surgeon Dr.
Richard Francis, director of robotic surgery
and training at the hospital.
In recognition of Westside Surgical
Hospital’s commitment to robotic surgical
procedures, the hospital has been chosen
as a training center for Mazor Robotics
Renaissance Guidance System, the only
FDA-cleared robotic device for spine and
brain surgeries.
According to Christopher Prentice, Mazor
Robotics’ Senior Vice President of Global
Marketing, Westside’s central location in
the U.S. may help attract surgeons from
throughout the country to our facility. So
in addition to having a surgical training lab
at Westside, visiting surgeons will also have
the opportunity to observe a Renaissance
procedure with Dr. Francis, who is well
experienced with the technology with over

The hospital already has one Renaissance
system in place, and is adding a second
unit as a training tool. Once operational,
