Catch a Breeze “Do you want to be a mother?” he asked her. The gin and tonic glasses sweated in their hands, ice cubes melting after a brief clinking. They sat in beach chairs on his tiny outdoor deck above a tinier backyard, trying to escape the airless indoors, but the heavy July air still stuck to their bodies. His tent was erect behind them; he’d been sleeping out here the past few nights to try and catch a breeze. Photography by Rebecca Dimovski She didn’t answer. Stuck a finger in her glass to poke at a lime. Slowly sucked the gin off her skin. Leaning forward, her heart beating faster, she stared into the glass before tilting her head back and draining the last few drops. The wedge of lime hit her nose. >
