From the Chair

It has been quite a summer! I hope everyone was able to enjoy the season. Our Networks have continued to blaze throughout the summer. Plentiful IWIRC events have kept our Members active and engaged. The Leadership Retreat was a huge success. The New York Network and its planning committee put on a truly memorable program that was attended by 86 Members with representatives from 31 Networks, including 22 States and 5 Countries! It was a fantastic event with great networking and programming. I cannot wait to see what/where the next retreat takes us (we have already seen several amazing submissions!). With its fine new Board of Directors duly elected, IWIRC is in great hands for a promising future. Several potential new Networks are on the horizon (London, BVI, South Africa, Arizona, amd Kuala Lumpur) and we welcome the Puerto Rico Network just in time for the fall conference in Miami. The close proximity should provide a great opportunity to meet and greet our latest Network. At 1,239 members, we are still a bit shy of our "1500 in 2015" goal, so I encourage each and every one of you to reach out and introduce yourself, and IWIRC, to someone new!
I look forward to seeing you all at the Fall Conference in Miami September 26th-27th. The Programming Committee has put together a wonderful program with "energizing" panels and exciting activities. We will welcome our latest class of five Rising Star Finalists from one of the most competitive selections we have seen yet. How fortunate we are to be in the midst of such unbelievably talented and accomplished young women. Remember, as fall is ushered in, and we tend to get back into our fast-paced routine, to please consider the words of Elizabeth Lawrence, "Even if something is left undone, everyone must take time to sit still and watch the leaves turn." Take some time!
