Shapi n Futur g The e Chirop Of ractic T he landscape for chiropractic care is evolving as inroads are made to further integrate into the broader health care system. For instance, we have seen chiropractors more involved in Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs) across Ontario and in interprofessional teams. Since 2012, Interprofessional Spine Assessment and Education Clinics (ISAECs) have made a positive impact on expanding MSK care options. And since 2014, we’ve seen low back pain pilots established in seven communities. More recently, Rapid Access Clinics (RACs) have received millions of dollars in funding from the Ministry of Health and Long- Term Care and are currently being rolled out in each LHIN across the province. These clinics build on existing models, like ISAEC and the hip and knee Central Intake and Assessment Centres (CIACs). With new MSK pathways emerging and expanding, now is the time for all of us to mobilize and shape the future of chiropractic care. By getting involved, you can contribute to the collective network of chiropractors that advocate for the profession and the integration of chiropractic. 22 SPRING 2018 Get Engaged 1.
