Congratulations, Julie!

After working with MSCCN for 2.5 months, Julie accepted a position as a medical receptionist.

Hiring Challenge:  I was facing difficulty preparing my resume. I submitted countless applications for jobs I truly felt qualified for; however, I was unable to get an interview for any job opening. It was a challenge, because my last professional employment was in 2010. I was trying to make a fresh start and getting nowhere.

Assistance Received: When I started working with Mrs. Weakly, she encouraged me to sign up for resume training. She worked closely with me and helped me to revise my resume. After I completed my resume training, Mrs. Weakly emailed me job vacancies that were suited to my qualifications. I enthusiastically applied for a job as a medical receptionist. Imagine how pleased I was to receive an email inviting me to attend an interview! I immediately contacted Mrs.Weakly, and she was kind enough to send me information on preparing for interviews. I studied and prepared responses for commonly asked questions. We scheduled a mock interview to help me prepare,, which was helpful because she was able to assist me in wording my responses.

Results: Leading up to my interview, I continued to review all of the information and training material I received from Mrs. Weakly. The day of the interview, I felt very confident. I maintained eye contact with my interviewer and kept open body language with a smile on my face. I attended three interviews with different individuals for the same position. On my third interview, I was offered the job. I was overjoyed! I immediately called and thanked Mrs. Weakly for her assistance. I couldn't have done it without her.

Value of Experience: I am satisfied and content with all the knowledge I gained from my work with Mrs. Weakly. I would like to take her with me throughout my career. Her knowledge and input really gave me the confidence I needed. I will put my all in my job because I want Mrs. Weakly's hard work to mean something. When I make myself a success, I will make the program a success. Thank you.
