MADISON RISING , “ America ’ s Most Patriotic Rock Band ”, hit the charts at number 47 with the release of “ Battered Not Broken ”. This is the first release with new front man RIO HIETT at the mic . From the get-go , there are distinct differences from the band ’ s previous releases . All members have taken a share of the writing responsibilities . In listening to the previous releases from the band , the music in general seems to be faster paced and heavier . It has to be viewed as growth from the band .
The first track , “ Blood Red Sun ”, has a quick paced , guitar laden base with solid vocals and a well harmonized chorus . “ Dangerous ”, has a strong , fast , driving beat that seems to remind us of what anthem rock should sound like -- with strong hooks and an in-your-grill sound that should be pleasing to the rocker in all of us . “ It ’ s Coming ‘ Round Again ”, gave me a feel in the first bit of the song that we could be listening to a ballad . While the tempo slowed , to call it a ballad may not be quite an entirely accurate description . It still has great guitar work , harmonies and a well pronounced back beat carried by TOM DIPETRO ( bass guitar ) and SAM FISHMAN ( drums ). It ’ s a song that is an easy listen .
