The students visited the Makuhari Minami Elementary School for their
Japanese language project in November. It was the first time for the most
of our students to visit a Japanese school. It is a great experience to see
the elementary school for them because the US and Japan have really
different school cultures. Our students were very surprised to see how
well-disciplined children were there preparing their own lunch and clean
up all together. They also had a great time play together with the students
at Makuhari Minami.
The Student Council organized an event to take students to the famous
Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Tokyo. We all had amazing time there to see
how the Ghibli films are made, and meet the real-size robot soldier from
the “castle in the sky”! Many people talked about having “Ghibli movie
relay” after seeing all the great work at the museum.
