construction activity as the Phase 1 roads are nearing completion.

The roadbuilding efforts for the past month have been focused on the section
of River Club Drive that connects to Old Cullowhee Road, the community’s main
entrance. Construction crews have been
busy with the roadway
rock excavation and will be
bringing the road to final
grade over the next several
weeks. Driving along this
portion of River Club Drive,
over a quarter of a mile
through the community’s
open space, will offer
spectacular elevated views of
the river as you approach the
first River Cottages. A left turn
lane on Old Cullowhee Road will be constructed at the Community Entrance this
spring making access in and out of the community safe and efficient.
The Phase 1 roads at the
lots are on final grade,
drainage is installed, and
one lane width of gravel
has been placed. Once the
underground utilities are
completed the full road width will be graveled in preparation for paving in April
when the temperatures will allow.
Driving along this portion of River Club
Drive will offer spectacular elevated
views of the river as you approach the first
River Cottages.
The water lines and fire hydrants have been installed in the PH 1 lot areas and will
connect to the Tuckasegee Water and Sewer Authority’s system once River Club
