Responsible
Fatherhood Project
The Baltimore Responsible
Fatherhood Project (BRFP) is an
outgrowth of the Center for Urban
Families’ 15 year-old Men’s Services
program, serving Baltimore’s lowincome fathers and communities.
The broader goals of the program
are to increase fathers’ emotional
and financial support of their
children and families by:
•
Improving acquisition and
demonstration of parenting skills
•
Increasing child support
awareness and management
•
Increasing healthy relationships
and effective communication
•
Increasing job readiness and
employability
The mission of the
Center for Urban
Families is to
strengthen urban
communities by
helping fathers
and families
achieve stability
and economic
success.
Vision
Our vision is a
society in which
individuals have
the knowledge,
skills, and
resources to be
self-sufficient;
parents have
the ability to
provide the best
opportunities for
their children;
and families are a
solid foundation
for healthy
communities.
HELPING FATHERS AND FAMILES WORK
Since our founding in 1999,
CFUF has remained at the
front-line of addressing some
of our city’s most pressing
issues: poverty, unemployment,
father-absence and family
disintegration. Central to
CFUF’s mission is the belief that
men—the most disconnected
and underserved citizens in
urban communities—who
connect with women, their
children, and the workplace
are key to the restoration
of stability and optimism.
Consistent with this mission,
our organizational goal is to
assist individuals in regaining
the personal power needed
to benefit their families and
communities.
The BRFP delivers services through
a comprehensive
3-month cohort model,
consisting of;
• Intense case
management
• Group sessions using
CFUF’s evidence-based
DADMAP curriculum
• Father/child outings and
activities
