Get To Know: Wastewater Assistant General Manager Gregory J. Norby
There’s a new member on our Agency’s Executive Management team.
We welcome Gregory J. Norby as he steps into the role of Assistant
General Manager of the Wastewater Enterprise (WWE). Greg brings
over 20 years of experience in private sector water infrastructure
engineering and public utility management to the Agency, most
recently as the General Manager of the Ross Valley Sanitary District.
Prior to his time working in Marin County, he was the General Manager
of the Mammoth Community Water District in the Sierras.
“I’m thrilled to join an organization that is committed to a more sustainable future,”
Greg says.
Greg will lead all WWE operations and capital improvement programs, including the
Sewer System Improvement Program (SSIP); manage RainReadySF, the City’s
comprehensive flood resilience strategy, and other climate change and sea level rise
initiatives; oversee WWE functions of the Department Operations Center during
disaster preparedness, response and recovery; and provide direction on many other
Enterprise priorities.
Since mid-October 2017, Brian Henderson has served as Acting Assistant General
Manager, and we are deeply grateful to Brian for his outstanding interim leadership.
We want to share the exciting news as we continue to provide reliable, resilient service
24/7/365. Get to know more about Greg and the Wastewater Enterprise
at sfwater.org/executivemanagement.
