1 SPRING 2015 THE NEWSLETTER OF AYRSHIRE COLLEGE WELCOME It has been a busy time at Ayrshire College with many significant events taking place, including the launch of our Skills Centre of Excellence and work on the brand new £53 million Kilmarnock Campus. Willie Mackie, Chairman of the Board of Management Ayrshire College; Elma Murray, Chief Executive North Ayrshire Council; Angela Constance MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning; Heather Dunk, Principal and Chief Executive Ayrshire College; North Ayrshire Council Leader Willie Gibson Skills Centre of Excellence officially opened We welcomed MSP Angela Constance, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, to officially launch our Skills Centre of Excellence based at Irvine Royal Academy on Wednesday 18 February. Heather Dunk, Principal, Ayrshire College From August 2015 secondary pupils in fourth, fifth and sixth years at North Ayrshire schools will be able to access a range of vocational courses at our new Skills Centre of Excellence as well as at other campuses. The College will work with employers to ensure the courses provided at the Skills Centre of Excellence are influenced by the needs of the local economy.
