Saban Pot

INGREDIENTS
2 lbs salt beef, beef brisket
or salted pork
1 small cabbage
1 pound potatoes
2 sweet potatoes
2 tannias
6 ears corn
3-4 christophines
*6-8 dumplings
1 pumpkin, cut into cubes
METHOD
2 medium onions
1 yam, dasheen or other root vegetable
4-6 carrots
thyme and parsley to taste
The meat must be washed,
soaked and pre-cooked.
Add vegetables, the
hardest ones first. Then
add cabbage, carrots and
dumplings.
Cook in a very deep pot.
Put enough water in the
pot to cover all vegetables.
Put thyme and parsley on
top.
Cook, covered for 20-30
mins.
