A Guide to the
Certified Municipal
Manager (CMM)
Accreditation
“Legally recognized by Private Members Bill (PR27)”
Do you need:
To enhance your marketability?
A tangible recognition of all your education and work experience?
A managerial level of recognition to complement a technical or professional designation?
A framework to focus your career development?
The CMM Designation:
Is widely recognized municipal accreditation with legal status
Builds on both existing employment experience and education
Has four progressive levels to allow updates of further achievements
Provides ongoing personal guidance to advance through the program
How? Your completed application results in a detailed evaluation, identifying your current education
and experience point level values in respect to the four levels of CMM. The number of points or subject
areas needed to achieve the CMM or progress within the program will be clearly identified. Members
may request, at any time, specific guidance on courses or seminars available to achieve the required
points. The Institute will provide direction based on our extensive library of university, college,
association and private sector offerings.
The CMM is the management designation for municipal administrators!
