With this season of Christmas comes the next generation of gaming . Both Sony and Microsoft have announced the release of their brand new gaming consoles , the PS5 and Xbox Series X , respectively .

There are plenty of similarities . Both systems are capable of 8K 120 FPS gameplay and both are listed at a $ 500 market price . Both systems have shown extreme growth in terms of their new specs , which are nearly identical . But the Series X beats out the PS5 when you explore their minute differences .

To be technical , the CPU and GPU of the two systems are the exact same model , but the Xbox GPU has two more teraflops than Playstation , and the Xbox CPU has 0.3 more GHz than Playstation . To the average eye , the differences are completely unnoticeable , but the technically astute agree that Xbox wins this one .

Furthermore , the Series X is capable of holding up to 1 TB of space , nearly 200 GB more than the PS5 .

However much one may care about

specs , it is undeniable that the PS5 holds much more impressive and entertaining exclusives . PS5 boasts better games , such as “ Demon ’ s Souls ,” “ God of War ,” “ Ratchet and Clank ,” and “ Spider Man :

“ The Santa Clause ” ( 1994 ) Director : John Pasquin Stars : Tim Allen , Judge Reinhold When ( Allen ) accidentally makes Santa fall off of his roof on Christmas Eve , he becomes the new Santa . Rating : 7 out of 10

Miles Morales .” Meanwhile , the Xbox doesn ’ t hold any significant exclusives Playstation wins this one by a landslide since Xbox doesn ’ t have as many diverse titles as Playstation .

It is also important to mention that both systems finally offer backwards compatibility , meaning you will be able to play games from previous systems . However , the PS5 is only backwards compatible up to PS4 games , while the Series X can bring you back to play the oldest of Xbox games .

While Sony beats Microsoft in the exclusives area , Microsoft blows Sony out of the water with their backwards compatibility .

Sony gave a complete revamp to the Playstation ’ s hardware , and with that revamp comes a totally new controller : the DualSense . DualSense offers a new way to play games with hypersensitive haptics , reac-
