APPOINTED Steve Chamberlain has joined MHA Monahans as senior VAT manager, bringing with him 30 years of VAT expertise and wide first-hand experience of VAT across numerous sectors and businesses. Steve was previously VAT director at RSM UK and has also spent ten years as a VAT Inspector for HM Customs and Excise (HMRC). This appointment will bolster the firm’s VAT advisory service and MHA Monahans’ clients across the region will be able to access this specialist knowledge and be confident that their VAT requirements are safely in hand. Steve explained: “VAT can be a difficult area for businesses as it’s complex, not intuitive and can bring painful consequences. However, with the right advice, it is possible to have a solution that works, doesn’t cost a fortune and that people can understand.” Two senior promotions at local hospice Winsley’s Dorothy House Hospice Care has announced two senior promotions. Wayne de Leeuw has been promoted to the joint role of Director of Patient, Family Services and Deputy Chief Executive and Ruth Gretton has been promoted to Director of Nursing. Wayne was previously Executive Clinical Lead for Community Services at the hospice and Ruth Gretton’s prior role was Executive Clinical Lead Inpatient Services at Dorothy House. 8 THE BUSINESS EXCHANGE 2018 The hospice provides free palliative and end-of -life care from early diagnosis onwards to patients, their families and carers across Bath and North-East Somerset, Wiltshire and Somerset. Providing hospice services requires significant funds and for every one pound received from the NHS, Dorothy House need to raise a further four pounds. John Davies, chief executive at Dorothy House Hospice Care, said: “These two new appointments recognise the outstanding quality of both Wayne and Ruth’s leadership and the strong performances of their teams in recent years.
