GLMS President John Roberts, MD, welcomed
physicians from across the state to the KMA Annual Meeting at the Louisville Marriott East. Kicking off the event’s Kentucky Physicians’ Leadership Academy on Saturday, Dr. Roberts said, “The
times they are a-changin. There are many forces
outside our profession that are molding the world
we live in and affecting our profession.”
He continued, saying, “Physician leadership in
this environment is critical. We need to develop
physicians who have the resources, knowledge,
skills and behavior to affect the change we need.
I think there’s a lot to do. I’m inspired by the turnout today, and I’m inspired by the number of resolutions we entertained this morning. It shows me
there is a desire to be engaged and be involved.”
That desire to be engaged and involved mentioned by Dr. Roberts was pervasive at this year’s
KMA Annual Meeting. Throughout the weekend,
Kentucky physicians were considering the present day and planning for the future of medicine.
Nowhere is this more obvious than in the passing
of KMA resolutions. Two dozen resolutions were
