New Teacher Mrs. Curlo

Mrs. Elizabeth Curlo graduated
from Loup City High School in
2005. She graduated from the
University of Nebraska at
Kearney in 2010 with a degree in
Elementary Education and Span-
ish. In 2010, she also received
her Master’s Degree in Spanish
Education.
She enjoys interacting with stu-
dents of all ages and teaching them how to converse and inter-
pret information in a different language. Curlo said, “It’s amaz-
ing how fast our little students can learn a foreign language and
how easily they can use certain vocabulary in context.” She
loves seeing her high schoolers succeed and to see them pro-
gress from learning simple vocabulary to reading full paragraphs
in Spanish.
Mrs. Curlo is planning to take high school students from
Ansley and Litchfield to Europe in June of 2019. She is a go-
getter when it comes to fundraising to make sure this trip can
happen
for
her
amazing
students.
She was born and raised in Ashton, Nebraska. Her Husband
Kev is also from there. They have a three-year-old daughter, El-
la, and are expecting a new bundle of joy this summer. They
have no interest in living anywhere else due to their families still
being around the area. When she took this job she was so excit-
ed to be able to teach close to home. Previously, she taught 2
years in Red Cloud and four years at Doniphan-Trumbull. Mrs.
Curlo has been a great addition to our school and we hope that
she likes our small community! ■
