M
ay is a time for
honoring those who
serve in our armed
forces with Armed Forces Day,
and for remembering those
who sacrificed their lives while
in service with Memorial
Day. It is a time to pause in
what you are doing and think
about all you have because
of the courage and patriotism
of others who fought for the
privileges we have in the
Unites States.
Armed Forces Day is
Saturday, May 20, 2017.
Always on the third Saturday
in May, it is a day to pay
tribute to the men and women
who serve in the U.S. armed
forces. The single holiday
was created in 1949 after
the branches of the Armed
Forces were unified under the
Department of Defense.
While Armed Forces Day
honors those who have served,
Memorial Day is a special day
of remembrance for those who
have died while serving in our
country’s armed forces.
