Modeling Economic Interdependence in Deterrence Using a Serious Game

results of any statistical analysis , a finding that an economic variable correlates with a particular conflict outcome must be interpreted with caution . These types of experiments are intended to help us develop an understanding of influences and incentives , not to make predictions about future actions taken by individual decision makers . When the results are caveated appropriately , however , online games used as experiments can be a useful tool to address experimental design and data sparsity issues that plague conflict research and many other fields . This work is simply a first step in demonstrating their usefulness .
