ICHTHUS - WINTER 2017
Our new National Advocate
The National Advocate works to raise
awareness of the support LWPT can offer. We
appointed David Latter as our new National
Advocate on 1st September 2017.
David’s commissioning service took place at his
church in Letchworth Garden City on Sunday
5th November 2017.
David has taken on the mantle of National Advocate from Reverend John
Bolton who has served in this historically key role for the last two years. We
thank John for his work during that time.
A Methodist Local Preacher for over 30 years, David believes preaching plays
a vital role in promoting the good news of Jesus. LWPT is uniquely placed to
encourage and resource preachers in the UK, through Preach Magazine, its
grants and its training events (among other initiatives). David looks forward
to helping the work grow.
As National Advocate, David will represent LWPT in a range of settings.
David says, ‘I am keen to continue the good work of my predecessors and to
see growth ecumenically for the Trust. During my time as Advocate I would
like to engage more people in recognising the power of preaching and will be
exploring opportunities with individuals and groups across the country.’
David is happy to discuss invitations to speak about the work of LWPT, or
preaching in general, and you can contact him through the LWPT office.
