Clareview Community

Recreation Centre

The Clareview Community Recreation Centre is kind of the epitome of the idea that Edmonton spends too much on its art projects. From the research I did, the Clareview Community Recreation Centre is the result of an upgrade of just over $100 million to the previously existing Twin Arenas. Although an architectural beauty, this facility is much more confusing than it really has to be. That aside, the equipment and training space provided is more than enough for the average gym-goer. However, if you’re an Olympic weightlifter, somehow they couldn’t find enough money in their $100 million dollar budget to afford a few bumper plates.

Cleanliness- Very clean. Nothing to mention here.

Dominant lifting style- There are a lot of middle to older aged people here doing a variety of light lifting and cardio exercises. However, this gym is suitable for most lifting styles, except for Olympic lifting as they do not have bumpers or platforms.

Personal training- Available!

WiFi- Also available! Free, and no password required.

Parking- Plenty! And it’s about a 10 minute walk from the Clareview LRT station if that’s what your preferred mode of transportation.
