The Opening of the Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail
Summer is quickly approaching, which only means one thing for Sparta...Events. With the return of warm
weather and the rapidly approaching end of the school year, soon it will be harder to decide what you don’t
have time for, instead of trying to find a family-friendly activity. Historically, we kick off the summer season
with the Opening of the Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail. Speed’s Bike Shop will shuttle riders to Norwalk, where they
will ride through the third tunnel and back into Sparta (around 11 miles). Once back in Sparta, we are invit-
ing businesses and organizations in the Sparta community to set up booths and provide the event goers with a
‘Taste of Sparta’. We encourage booth participants to include an activity, promotion, and even sales. Be creative,
and have fun! This is a fantastic opportunity for free publicity! This year, our event falls on Cinco de Mayo,
which we are fully embracing. Enjoy street tacos, nachos, and experience a little bit of Mexican culture. This
is a FREE event and is designed for families of all sizes. Whether you have toddlers or teenagers, this is going
to be a spectacular day
