W
est Suburban Humane Society has
now made it easier then ever to
collect donations for our biggest fundraiser
of the year, Barkapalooza Dog Walk and
Pet Expo.
If you are planning on participating in
this year’s event, visit our website at
www.firstgiving.com/wshs. From this site
you can register for Barkapalooza and
create your own fundraising web page.
Getting Started is Easy!
It only takes a few minutes to create your
online fundraising page:
1. Click on the “Get Started” button.
2. Personalize the text and the photo of
your online fundraising page to express
your passions and your purpose.
3. Send the link out to your friends, family,
and colleagues – anyone you think will
help you reach your goal. Ask them to
forward it on to their contacts as well!
4. When you set up your web page through
Firstgiving, you will be entered into our
split the pot raffle drawing.
5. The winner will receive a $1,000 prize!
6. The winning ticket will be drawn on
Sunday, September 30th at the 2:00 p.m.
end time of our event.
Nacho
Cubbie
With the funds raised from Barkapalooza,
we were able to help many animals in need:
• Victor, a 9-year-old American Bulldog,
who has spondylosis and requires daily
supplements and biweekly chiropractic
visits.
• Nadirah, a sweet 5-year-old Tortie, who
had to have several surgeries to remove
a collar that was imbedded in her neck.
She is also FIV positive.
• Nacho, an 11-year-old Schnoodle who
was turned in because his owner could
no longer take care of him. Nacho had to
have surgery to remove a large stone
from his bladder as well as a dental. He
will require a special diet for the rest of his
life. Also turned in with Nacho, was
Cubbie, an 8-year-old Schnauzer. Cubbie
had to have several tumors removed and
he also had to have a dental.
These are just a few of the animals that
were saved with the generous support of
our donors. Last year we raised $39,000
online. Our goal this year is to raise
$40,000 again, all to benefit the homeless
animals in our care.
Don’t delay, set up your
fundraising web page today!
Your support can and does
save lives!
