BLECH MEETS BUSINESS
We report from the Blechexpo / Schweisstec 2021 sheet metal trade fair , which took place in Stuttgart , Germany , from 26-29 October 2021

Along with the 8th Schweisstec international trade fair for joining technology , the 15th Blechexpo international trade fair for sheet metal working took place from 26-29 October 2021 . As a key meeting point for the industry during a difficult year of COVID-19 disruption and lockdowns , the mood was upbeat as exhibitors and visitors were able to network face to face . The latest technologies and stand-alone / system solutions for the fabrication of parts made from sheet metal , profiles and pipe were on display .
Around 953 exhibitors from Germany , Italy , Austria , Turkey , Switzerland and the Benelux countries showcased technologies in sheet metal processing and metalworking over 108,000 square metres of exhibition floor space in nine halls . An estimated 30,000 visitors from 83 countries attended the event . Both Blechexpo and Schweisstec were also supported by digital platforms , for those unable to attend the events in person , which attracted considerable numbers of ‘ virtual ’ visitors .
Once every two years , Blechexpo / Schweisstec presents the issues covering all aspects of thermal and mechanical sheet metal processing ; cutting technologies ; processing machines ; equipment for punching , bending , braking and forming as well as system peripherals ( including controllers and software , and solutions for handling and quality assurance ). It covers complete process chains in sheet metal processing and metalworking .
As an international media partner , ISMR ’ s team distributed its October issue at the show entrances and took a stand in Hall 1 .

“ Full exhibition halls , a great mood , satisfied exhibitors . There ’ s no substitute for an on-site trade fair ,” commented Georg Knauer , project manager of the Blechexpo / Schweisstec trade fair duo .

“ We ’ re finally able to celebrate a trade fair again ,” added Christian Ludwig from Meusburger Georg GmbH & Co KG in Wolfurt , Austria . The company took part in Blechexpo / Schweisstec for the tenth time this year . “ Blechexpo is a very important , leading trade fair for us . We finally have the opportunity of presenting our exhibits to our customers again . We ’ ve engaged in terrific , high-quality discussions here , and post-event success is a certainty .”
