course in archaeological techniques and
methods. You will begin your learning
experience with
an exclusive
Archaeology
Walking Tour,
given by
Assistant
Director of Archaeology, Dr. Terry
Brock. This tour, which is not offered to
regular Montpelier visitors, will guide you
through some of the excavations that have
One-Day Dig
Programs
happened on the property over the last 20
years.
You will then join our field staff for
hands-on instruction in archaeological
excavation
techniques, before
jumping into one
of our test units
and digging
yourself! Our staff
will teach you the
basics of artifact
identification as
you enjoy digging for artifacts. We will
provide a boxed lunch from the award
