“South County isn’t as
small as it once was, but
it still has that small-
town feel. It’s nice to
live in an area where
you can get involved in
community activities
and get to know your
neighbors while making
a positive impact.”

Byron is a quintessential “numbers guy.” He has logged
half of his 30-year career in financial services with
Hewlett Packard where he held various accounting
and finance positions at the company’s San Diego offices and
its Cupertino headquarters. Looking back, Byron said he
appreciated the emphasis on collaboration toward a shared
mission popularly known as “the H-P Way.” From H-P,
Byron went on to work with the Village Green, a 20-acre
Senior Living community in Gilroy that is part of a national
real estate development project by Merrill Gardens. It was
a significant and welcome change as Byron moved from a
multinational high-tech powerhouse to a smaller organiza-
tion and moved up the ladder to the position of CFO.
It’s been more than a decade since Byron turned the
corner on his corporate career and launched his own firm,
GILROY • MORGAN HILL • SAN MARTIN
Kelley Bookkeeping and Accounting. This venture has given
him the opportunity to provide expertise and services to
local small businesses as well as a national retail franchise. It
also allowed him to carve out time for community service.
Byron joined the Morgan Hill Rotary Club in 2012 and
has served on its board for three years. He is also a board
member of Leadership Morgan Hill (Class of 2015).
Byron holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the
University of California, Irvine, and a Master’s degree in
Business Management from Purdue University. He lives in
Morgan Hill with his wife, LaCrista, a pediatrician with San
Jose Medical Group, and their two teenage daughters. One
of his favorite downtown destinations is Rosy’s at the Beach,
where he enjoys Taco Tuesdays.
