DONOR SPOTLIGHT: BILL DIGAETANO
More than a financial difference
McLane Children’s advisory board
member Bill DiGaetano is an astute
businessman, having served in
executive leadership positions at
Wilsonart International and now
as the CEO of five separate LLCs
and franchise partner of Alamo
Drafthouse Cinema.
Over the past decade, Bill has
used his resources and business
sense to make an investment in the
young people of Central Texas through
his work with non-profits. He serves
not only on the McLane Children’s
Hospital board, but also on the boards
of Ralph Wilson Youth Club, Temple
Education Foundation, and Baylor
Scott & White Memorial Hospital. He
is also president of the board for the
United Way of Central Texas.
In February, Bill saw up close the
dividends of his investment. The
daughter of a family friend visiting
Temple was attacked by a dog during
a Super Bowl party and was rushed
to McLane Children’s Emergency
Department. The girl happened to
be placed in a room named in honor
of the DiGaetano family’s gift to the
hospital. Her mother was impressed
with the “high level of care and
professionalism” demonstrated by
the McLane Children’s staff. The
girl made a full recovery and has
no visible scarring from the attack.
As a father and grandfather
himself, Bill understands that life
takes on more meaning when one
becomes a parent. Bill has made
more than a financial difference to
McLane Children’s; his gift of both
time and resources has helped
make all the difference in the lives
of families throughout Central Texas.

birthday in the hospital
• For moms and dads who know life is
about much more than themselves
