Family Archery | Ages 8-Adult
A perfect family activity! Learn the basics of archery, then
spend time practicing on the range! All equipment and
instruction provided. Children must be accompanied by a paid

Take a short hike with a naturalist along the trails, play games
with family and friends and enjoy marshmallows roasted over
the campfire! Children under two are free. Children must be

Hooray for Earth Day | All Ages
Celebrate the great outdoors this Earth Day at Heller! Plant a
seed to take home, play games, test your recycling knowledge,
create a recycled art sculpture (bring clean, dry recyclable
materials from home, or use some of ours), take a self-guided
Earth Day trail walk and more!

Welcome spring with a relaxing paddle on the beautiful Skokie
Lagoons! Naturalists will provide canoes and everything else
needed for an afternoon on the water.

Friends Outdoor Exploring (FOX); Engage in nature through
hikes, unstructured play, experiments and hands on activity.
We spend the entire class outdoors exploring what adventures
spring has to offer. Please wear warm, waterproof outdoor
clothing and boots.

Stargazing | All Ages*
See the moon and Jupiter through our telescope or bring a
blanket to lay on the grass and view the stars. If weather is
cloudy we will provide an indoor program.
*Everyone is welcome, but content is appropriate for adults and
children over the age of six. No pre-registration required.

Bee-tastic Mother’s Day | Ages 6-Adult
Bring the special women in your life for a sweet treat to let
them know how much they mean to you. Learn about the
Queen bee and her hard-working daughters, then put on a bee
suit to get a safe, up-close look inside the hives. Afterwards
stay and make a natural lotion bar and bees wax candle.
Children must be accompanied by a paid registered adult. All
participants must wear closed shoes and tall socks to visit the
hives. Registration deadline: May 11. Min/Max 6/20.
