On Tuesday, November 22, Plattekill
Police Chief Joseph Ryan, 52, was arrested
at his home by the Town of Newburgh
Police after they
received call at
5:18 p.m. Ryan
was
brought
to
police
headquarters
and formally
charged with
one count of 4th
degree criminal
mischief
for
breaking
a
door down and
two counts of
endangering
the
welfare
Joseph Ryan
of
a
child,
all misdemeanor offenses. There was
no weapon involved in the incident or
physical contact made with anyone.
Ryan was arraigned before Town
Justice Jude Martini and released on
his own recognizance. He is due back in
Town of Newburgh Court on December 5
