Fall Field Day a Hit !

After a long hiatus , MLP members got back together at the association ’ s Fall Field Day held on September 15 , 2021 at Cushing Memorial Park in Framingham , MA .
More than 300 tree and landscape professionals took advantage of a beautiful day to demo trend-setting equipment , check out the newest plant introductions , and learn more about the latest technology .
Well-attended Sprint Sessions offered throughout the morning featured modern pruning techniques , proper tree planting , DOT compliance , and safety gear inspection .
One of the highlights of Fall Field Day was participation by students from local high schools . Instructors from Keefe Tech , Minuteman , and Norfolk Aggie brought close to 100 students to the event . MLP members greeted students , answered questions , and gave them a rundown of the diverse career paths available to them in the landscape industry .
“ It was completely great to see people I haven ’ t seen in more than a year and a half !” commented one attendee . “ I got a bunch of good information and was able to pass along a project to someone I wouldn ’ t have known had it not been for Fall Field Day .”
We are grateful to our MAA co-hosts , exhibitors , volunteers , and members who made MLP ’ s Fall Field Day such a success . Let ’ s do it again next year !
Congratulations
Ian Connell , MCA of Tree Specialists and Deb Howe , ASLA of Lighthall Co . were the winners of the Plant ID Challenge at Fall Field Day 2021 .
