Fall Field Day Draws Great Crowd

The rain did not dampen the spirits of more than 300 landscape professionals who participated in MLP ’ s Fall Field Day on September 13 , 2022 , at beautiful Cushing Memorial Park in Framingham , MA .
Umbrellas and rain gear were the order of the day as members took part in trend-setting equipment demos , checked out the newest plant introductions , and learned about the latest technology from a wide variety of exhibitors .
Indoor classes and outdoor demonstrations were very well received . In two popular sessions , Jen Kettel of Radiant Leaf Consulting showed attendees how to properly prune young trees , as well as what you need to know to successfully maintain hydrangeas . SavATree ’ s experienced safety trainer , Ryan Torcicollo , demonstrated the skills needed to safely fell a tree ; Cory Rebello , MCA of Hartney Greymont gave an overview of safe chain saw handling ; and Russell Holman , MCA provided excellent information on emergency first aid in the field .
One of the highlights of Fall Field Day was seeing students from the local vocational schools – Keefe Tech , Minuteman Tech , and Norfolk Aggie – along with a group of Mike Davidsohn ’ s students from UMass . MLP members greeted students , answered questions , and gave them a rundown of the benefits of a career in the landscape industry .
We are grateful to our MAA co-hosts , exhibitors , volunteers , and members who made MLP ’ s Fall Field Day such a success .
