Courses
The Defence of the Realm

From Neolithic times onwards there is
evidence for one group attacking another and,
consequently, defensive works. This course
will look at defences in Britain from prehistoric
earthworks and Roman forts; medieval and
Tudor castles; to the huge structures of recent
history. We will also look at the daily life of the
garrisons in each period.
