A HUGE SUCCESS
EXPERIENCE
The Wear the White Coat Class of 2017
Our signature GLMS event, the Wear the White Coat Experience,
came to a close at the Ice House Louisville on Wednesday, No-
vember 8. There, 40 of Louisville’s top physicians and community
leaders gathered for a revelatory Post-Op Dinner in which both
parties shared their shadowing experiences. As is often the case
with the Wear the White Coat Experience, memories were made
and friendships were formed by the program’s pairings.
After an opening cocktail reception sponsored by Todd Sorrell of
Epic Insurance Solutions, the pairs made their way to dinner for
a three-course meal catered by Ice House with much discussion
on the sights and sounds of each shadowing experience. As com-
munity leaders and physicians reminisced about their one-of-a-
kind day, a theme of compassion and perseverance developed.
Metro United Way President/CEO Theresa Reno-Weber shadowed
GLMS Past-President Dr. James Patrick Murphy and gave him a
glowing review.
“I really found the way Dr. Murphy ap-
proaches his work to be so inspiring,” she
recalled. “I was able to see him talk one-
on-one with each patient about what was
going on in their lives and try to council them in ways which felt
