LWPT Goes on the Road

LWPT Goes on the Road

The LWPT Alumni Project , which we launched in 2023 , has continued at a pace in the New Year . To get the word out to as many students and potential students as possible , that grants and support can be available to them , we ’ re visiting theological colleges across the UK .
Our first visit was on 5 January , when the marketing team went to Nottingham University Campus to meet staff and students from Westminster Theological College for one of their on-site days , which take place at different venues throughout the year .

We were very generously hosted by Chief Operating Officer , Janey Lawry-White and her team , who took the trouble to make sure that alumni and students were able to meet us on our stand . The excitement was palpable from those who were unaware of LWPT ’ s support and we can look forward to an increase in applications this year . Those who had already received a grant were extremely positive about the life-changes that funding , through your gifts , had brought about . If you are a supporter of LWPT you can be assured that your donation has been genuinely appreciated and been working hard towards our mission of providing leaders to spread God ’ s word effectively .
Janey commented , “ WTC was impressed that LWPT took the initiative and made contact with us to come and meet our students and talk about the financial help on offer . Talking to the LWPT team in person was very helpful both for those students currently receiving grants from LWPT , and those planning to apply in future . 80 % of WTC students work while studying part-time , yet over half need financial help to pay the fees . 88 % of alumni in a recent survey said their WTC studies were personally transformative , for their faith and church roles . absolutely vital for church leaders and members to deepen their theological knowledge and understanding .”
The first part of the road show programme was to contact every UK theological college in November last year . It ’ s not possible for us to visit each in person but we aim to ensure everyone following their vocation in God ’ s work has the opportunity to apply for our support . Through posters , e-newsletters and flyers , the staff of many colleges helped us get our message across .
Our next three visits are to The University of Cambridge ’ s Ridley Hall , The London School of Theology in Northwood and The London Seminary in Hendon . Our format on the day is simple ; talk to as many students and alumni as possible , make sure they know about LWPT and the preaching resources we produce under our Preach banner and , most importantly , get feedback on LWPT .
