We ’ re delighted to announce the launch of Sermon of the Year 2022
Sermon of the Year 2022 – Open for Entries !
We welcome your participation in the next Sermon of the Year event ! The theme for 2022 is ‘ Welcome the Stranger ’ and is based on God ’ s invitation and imperative to people of faith to be open-hearted and open-handed to people who seem different from us . We ’ re expecting a whole range of sermons to draw on this theme that runs through the Bible and is so relevant to events around the world and on our own doorsteps .
As many of you know , Sermon of the Year is our annual event to celebrate and encourage the gift of preaching . Over the years , hundreds of people – of all ages and from many different churches – have honed their sermon-writing and preaching

Who can enter ?
We welcome entries from anyone resident in the UK , aged 18 or over . There are no requirements in terms of level of experience , denomination or church affiliation .
How to take part
Full details on how to enter can be found on our website at preachweb / sermonoftheyear . This year , your sermon should be 1,200 words and is submitted online . Entries close at midnight on Sunday 6 March , 2022 .
An independent adjudicator will identify the top ten sermons which will form the annual Sermon of the Year book . You can buy past copies now at www . preachweb . org / books-and-diaries
The top three sermons will go forward to the grand final event judged by a panel of friendly , experienced preachers . The 2022 panel of judges includes Tobi Olujinmi ( international speaker , producer and founder of The WTalk Network and preacher ) and Dotha Blackwood ( Tutor in Practical Theology at Spurgeon ’ s College , minister , preacher and worship leader ).
