Rep . Melony Bell , District 56 - DeSoto , Hardee and part of Polk
Melony Bell represents the 56th District for the Florida House of Representatives which covers all of DeSoto and Hardee counties as well as part of Polk County . Representative Bell currently serves as Vice Chair of the PreK-12 Appropriations Subcommittee . Her other Committees include Education & Employment Committee , Infrastructure & Tourism Appropriations Subcommittee , Pandemics & Public Emergencies Committee , and Post- Secondary Education & Lifelong Learning Subcommittee .
She is a native Polk Countian ; born in Winter Haven and a long-time resident of Fort Meade . She is married to Robbie , a beekeeper , has two adult daughters and is a proud grandmother . Melony is a graduate of South Florida Community College and Southeastern University , with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Professional Leadership .
Senator Danny Burgess , District 20 - Parts of Hillsborough , Pasco , Polk
Danny Burgess was elected to the Florida Senate in 2020 and represents District 20 . He serves as the Chair of the Select Committee on Pandemic Preparedness and Response . His other committee assignments include the Agriculture Committee ; Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services ; Banking and Insurance Committee ; Commerce and Tourism Committee ; Military and Veterans Affairs , Space , and Domestic Security Committee ; and the Joint Administrative Procedures Committee .
Danny is married to Courtney Clem of Lithia , FL and together they have three children . He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of South Florida and a Juris Doctor degree from Barry University School of Law .
