Changes in Raffle system are good and bad Pep rallies, featuring fun games like egg roulette, will be more limited this year New Incentives Student Goals Have Some Flaws Are Encouraging By Ryan Israel Chieftain Staff For decades, Brother Rice’s annual student run fundraiser has been centered around a raffle concept. The idea of using the Raffle to raise money is great. People are more likely to give money to Brother Rice if they believe they have a chance of winning something. With a new goal of $135,000 in sales, however, the actual chance of winning the grand prize is .0037%. The problem for Brother Rice is that, in the past two years, we haven’t met our fundraising goal. The theme of this school year thus far has been change, and that is exactly what happened with the Raffle. The Raffle is a very important event for our school. The man that was featured on WWE wrestling a couple of years ago, slamming Vince McMahon to the ground, is now the most powerful person in the country. Things started off strong for Trump, as he secured Indiana, West Virginia and Kentucky. Hillary locked down most of the Northeast states.
