Have Some Flaws Are Encouraging

For decades, Brother Rice’s annual
student run fundraiser has been centered
around a raffle concept. The idea of using
the Raffle to raise money is great. People
are more likely to give money to Brother
Rice if they believe they have a chance of
winning something.
With a new goal of $135,000 in sales,
however, the actual chance of winning
the grand prize is .0037%. The problem
for Brother Rice is that, in the past two
years, we haven’t met our fundraising
goal. This year, the school has decided
to raise the stakes, changing individual
incentives from dress down days to days
off of school.
The problem with this system is that
students who aren’t able to raise the

The Band of Brothers 2016 Raffle is
upon us. The theme of this school year
thus far has been change, and that is exactly what happened with the Raffle.
The Raffle is a very important event
for our school. This year, our goal is to
reach $135,000, and a new system is in
place to hit our mark. Instead of having
school closed for the entire student body,
individuals will be awarded days off this

he will have Dec. 2 off. If a student sells
$300, he will have Dec. 2 and Feb. 21
off. If the student body as a whole sells
$135,000 in tickets, the entire school will
be off Feb. 6, the day after Super Bowl.
This new system will encourage students to sell more than the previous

It’s finally over, the long awaited
2016 election is decided. Donald Trump
will be the 45th President of the United
States. Let that sink in. The man that
was featured on WWE wrestling a
couple of years ago, slamming Vince
McMahon to the
ground, is now
the most powerful person in
the country. He
couldn’t have
done it without
the help of the
American people.
Trump isn’t the
most knowledgeable guy, or most experienced when it comes to politics, but
he is the hardest working. Trump held
302 rallies against Hillary Clinton’s
278. Trump campaigned in 45 different states, plus Washington D.C and
Mexico. Hillary only campaigned in
37 states. In the seven days leading up
to the election, Trump also had seven
more stops than Hillary.
Now, to the night where it all went
down. Things started off strong for
Trump, as he secured Indiana, West
Virginia and Kentucky. Hillary locked
down most of the Northeast states. The
big guns came out later in the night,
