When we still published our sister magazine Christian Musician , we reached a milestone of 20 years doing so . During the course of that year , I had the privilege of going through the custom order process with making the acoustic guitar of my dreams with the fine folks at Santa Cruz Guitar Co .
From conversations with founding luthier Richard Hoover himself , as well as with Carolyn inside the shop , I was able to detail what I really wanted in a guitar that would capture the sound I was after ( a vintage slope shouldered dreadnought ) and the aesthetics to celebrate the 20 years of publishing Christian Musician magazine . The process was exciting , and the outcome was more than I had even hoped for .
