There is a sea change happen- ing in Video Surveillance . Recently it ’ s gone from a fo- rensic tool to a crime preven- tion tool . Video surveillance used to be “ well , something bad happened last night , let ’ s go look at the video .”

Now it ’ s rapidly becoming , “ Something potentially bad is happening right now , let ’ s intervene !” In other words , Video Surveillance has gone from reactive to proactive .
