AGM 2016 The Club celebrated the achievements of ten 50-year Members, along with their families who attended, and those present heard some wonderful stories from these members. All Members who spoke did so eloquently of their fond association with the Club, its rich history, and the support it provided for themselves personally and their pursuit of sailing. Many reminisced about the excellent level of training and support they received as Youth Members, of which the traditions are carried on today through the Centreboard and Youth Development programs. The 50 Year Members celebrated at the AGM were: Lex Brown Richard Coxon Nick Crombie John Harrington John Kelso Barry Nesbitt Bernard O’Sullivan Barry Shepherdson John Slade Paul Slade Board Members There were three nominations for two seats on the Board and Jim Bullough and Rick Welch were elected. The Commodore thanked Mark Griffith for his nomination. Rear Commodores Sal Ridulfo was re-elected as Rear Commodore Activities Leon Wilson was elected as Rear Commodore Cruising David Taylor was elected as Rear Commodore Centreboard Robert Alder remains the Rear Commodore Membership Ron Palmer remains the Rear Commodore Yacht Race David Taylor was also awarded the Clubmanship of the Year trophy for his tireless contribution to Centreboard activities, his involvement in racing – crewing on a variety of yachts in Club events and being a part of the winning Sydney to Hobart Handicap Winner, and his involvement and efforts in the incident of 27 February.
