The Edmonton Muse April 2019 | Page 20

Admittedly, it was not until recently that I started to pay attention to the small businesses in Beverly.

The neighborhood is a hidden gem of our city. I say hidden because it does not get nearly enough attention and it really should! The little shops that are scattered throughout the area have so much character, each bringing a unique and beautiful influence into the old community.

I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting Timothie Hill in a little cafe that is next door to him called, The Old Beverly Cafe (See photo gallery, it's so quaint and cozy!). I was in desperate need of a haircut/style and he was conveniently there!

Walking into this little salon, you are greeted with fresh and modern decor with a vintage twist. It is a relaxing little haven that keeps your stresses at the door, until you leave!

And Timothie! He is a wonderful and talented hair dresser, with a knack for positivity and the ability to make you feel and look amazing!

What is your Muse? What inspires you?

My muse is every client that comes into my chair. My goal for them is to enrich their lives by enhancing their natural beauty and bringing joy into their lives through positive feedback they get from their friends, co-workers and family about their appearance. Helping to improve their self esteem by bringing out their natural beauty.

What would you say would be a good reason for people to come and visit the Beverly area?

To get their hair done by me of course!! And to enjoy the free parking! And have lunch at the Old Beverly Cafe and have the best burgers and poutine in town! Also, to stop off at the bakery in the building!

Beverly is a much more relaxed part of town, quaint and charming... you see children, seniors, moms with baby’s walking around enjoying the good weather and it’s much more comfortable then other parts of the city .
