The nostalgia of the early rock n' roll artists is another comfort, though; and the music on those records that take us back in time and remind us of simpler times in our lives is an important influence in our lives. For some of us it might be reflecting back on those early Reverend Horton Heat albums (among others), and for others it’s reflecting back on the early rock n' roll albums that would have influenced Jim Heath’s choice to pursue a career in music in the first place. That musical knowledge may

not be as common as it once was (despite being at our fingertips at all times) but we can be thankful that Heath regularly delves into primitive rock n' roll recordings for inspiration to fuel his more modern and often more aggressive take on rock n' roll.

Honestly, if that knowledge of musical history is in fact fleeting, and if a high voltage rock n' roll revival is a history that we are ‘doomed to repeat’ then perhaps it’s only appropriate that the good Reverend be there to guide us.
