We preview the LAMIERA trade show in Milan from 10-13 May 2023 .

“ LAMIERA is the only trade show in Italy specifically focused on the sheetmetal sector . It highlights the primary role played by the Italian metalforming industry worldwide , which is high up in the rankings for production , exports and consumption . This helps to increase the appeal of this event for operators in the international manufacturing industry ,” commented UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE , the Italian machine-tool , robots , automation systems and ancillary products ( NC , tools , components and accessories ) manufacturers ’ association .

In 2022 , LAMIERA registered over 19,000 turnstile entries over the four days of the exhibition . Approximately 365 exhibitors in two halls supported the event , which covered a total exhibition surface area of over 40,000 square metres .

Six technological themes

Besides showcasing stand-alone machines and complex industrial equipment / software for sheet-metal forming and processing , the exhibition will focus on six technological themes that “ are crucial for the production in the sector today .” These are :

Machines ; systems ; equipment for sheet-metal processing and cutting , tubes ; sections ; wire ; metal structural work ; presses , dies and moulds ; welding ; surface treatment and finishing ; parts ; components ; accessories ; tooling ; fastener materials as well as technical and industrial subcontracting are some of the ‘ traditional ’ technologies on show .

In addition , there will be a large and varied offering of robots ; automation ; control and quality systems ; metrology ; software ; micromachining ; additive technologies and solutions for the digital factory and energy and production efficiency .

1 . FABBRICAFUTURA : Automation , robotics and digitalisation of production processes for the procurement and management of processing materials in the production line and on the machine ; software and technologies for connectivity , data analysis and security for remote assistance , predictive maintenance and the efficiency of production and business processes .

2 . SALDATECH : This will offer an overview of the wide and diversified world of welding . Welding machines and equipment , robots and consumables will be highlighted in this area .

3 . FASTENER INDUSTRY : This area will focus on screws , bolts , fastening and clamping systems .

4 . TTS-THE WORLD OF HEAT AND SURFACE TREATMENTS : Machines , systems and consumables focused on pre- and post-production treatments for ferrous and non-ferrous materials .

5 . METROLOGY & TESTING : Technologies , products , services and solutions developed to guarantee production quality . Measuring instruments ; testing machines ; artificial vision ; quality control and certification services will be some of the focuses .

6 . BLECH ITALY SERVICE : Technical subcontracting and services for the sector will be in the spotlight at Blech Italy Service . LAMIERA proposes , within Blech Italy Service , a parallel and alternative visit tour to the “ Make ” for manufacturers and the “ Buy ” regarding suppliers of subcontracting and services , for those who wish to purchase semifinished products and outsourced work .

At the cutting edge

“ In the exhibition halls , technologies dedicated to sheet-metal cutting will be particularly interesting . Laser technology has always played a starring role at the trade show and over 40 companies will represent the technology at LAMIERA ,” commented the show organiser .
